"Crop Circles Deciphered" by Neil Olsen is a 140 page spiral-bound book that is loaded with pictures and illustrations of the phenomena known as "Crop Circles." It is unlike most books on the subject because Neil writes his material from a Christian researcher's perspective. Neil is a noted crop-circle investigator - researcher from Canada with an educational background in forest wildlife biology.

Mr. Olsen's "Crop Circles Deciphered" presents a strong case for his theory that crop circles are divine "signs" warning of the fulfillment of Biblical prophecies. Neil provides 4 reasons why he believes crop circles are divinely originated.

#1. "Aliens" are really either good or bad angels or both.

#2. Angels are culturally linked to flying machines.

#3. Crop Circles appear in cereal crops with numbers and symbols related to Biblical history and mesh with parallels to Biblical doctrines and revelation.

#4. Crop Circles seem to be the result of guided energy that gives Messianic, Biblical messages to the same 7 churches found in the Revelation passages.

Neil's data includes extensive linkage between the crop circles and Jewish Christian theology, especially Jewish feasts as well as culture plus Christian doctrines of the New Testament. His research material that he presents in his book reviews the history of crop circles and evaluates numerous crop circles of the past plus recent circles in the 2002 crop season. In fact, Neil provides yearly updates to "Crop Circles Deciphered" so when you order, you get the most up-to-date information on crop circles that Neil has available.

Neil presents intriguing correlation between some crop circles and the Priestly Jewish horns (called the Shofar). Olsen also presents his opinions and conclusions on some of the more well-known formations such as the "Milk Hill" formation, the Chilbolton formations, including the "alien face" and Arecibo message formation.

Olsen makes an intriguing case in his argument for crop circles as being "signs from Heaven" prophesied by Jesus (Luke 21:11). We do note also that the prophecies do also refer to false signs and wonders being performed to misled humanity also so his citation does not necessarily prove anything on this count. In fact, it could be argued that Neil's research reaches subjective and not objective conclusions. This reviewer has not done any extensive research on the issue of Crop Circles but has done extensive research on related issues such as UFOs which leads this reviewer to suspect that Mr. Olsen may, indeed, be on to something with his research.

We do not believe that Mr. Olsen's research should be routinely dismissed by the church. If there is to be any dismissal of his research it should only be done after his data points have been extensively researched, analyzed and found to be lacking on the merits of the data and not on the basis of knee-jerk emotion embarrassment that his claims aren't accepted by secular academia.
